In front of a huge crowd at Centerville, the Fairmont Wrestling Firebirds fell to the Elks 35-32 in the 6th Annual Battle of Far Hills. The two teams split the dual 7-7 with bonus proving to be the difference. Winning for Fairmont were Matt Denlinger, Tommy Kimbrell, Mark Tulloch, Josh Parrett, Justin Kihn, Zach Biondie, and Ryan Huffman.
On Saturday, the JV's finished a strong 2nd at the Butler Tournament. Leading Fairmont were tournament champions Brad Carroll, Clay Dorman, and Robert Nsenga. Other placers included finalist Scott Hartmann as well as Zach Biondie, Patrick Winans, Jordan Schlemmer, and Andrew Routson.
The Kettering Wrestling Community hosts the GWOC Championships this weekend at Trent Arena. Action begins at 5:30 p.m. on Friday 2/3/12 and at 10 a.m. on Saturday 2/4/12. Come support the Firebirds in their quest to win a GWOC title!
